Charlie Francis - Water Reponse Specialist

Charlie has been a Coastguard Rescue Officer with Falmouth Coastguard rescue team for the past six years and operates as a Search Technician, Mud Technician, Water Operator, Rope Operator, and Casualty Care. Charlie is the first ever female mud technician for the Falmouth Team and the first in Cornwall. In her day job Charlie is a firefighter at a heliport ensuring the safety of passengers and staff.

 

In addition, Charlie is passionate about empowering women in rescue, and recently set up She Saves UK to represent, encourage and inspire women in rescue.

 

During her free time Charlie spends most of her time outside exploring, from sea swimming to trail running. She hopes to venture into international search and rescue in the future.
